Kasia Gondek, PT, DPT, CLT, CSCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Lymphedema Specialist, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Kasia (she/ her/ hers) earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and her Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Santa Cruz. She has established herself as a compassionate, effective, and respected clinician treating pelvic floor and women's health, orthopedic, neurological, and sports-related injuries and conditions.

Kasia utilizes a whole-body, whole-person treatment approach that is unique to each patient and is focused not only on improving pain and difficulty with activities, but also getting them back to doing what they love. She empowers her patients to become an integral part of their recovery and healing process through providing education, self-care, meaningful goal setting, and incorporating activities that they love into their treatment plan.

She combines functional movement, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, yoga, Pilates, and manual therapies (myofascial decompression also known as cupping, trigger point release, joint mobilizations) to improve pain, mobility, strength, coordination, and kinetic chain function.

Kasia has completed specialized training in pelvic floor rehabilitation through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute (courses 1, 2a, and 2b), and has taken many continuing education courses on prenatal and postpartum exercise and physical therapy treatment. She has completed her training and is a Certified Lymphaedema Therapist (CLT), further specializing in lymphatic massage and complete lymphatic decongestive therapy. She is currently pursuing her Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) board certification through the American Board of Physical Therapist Specialties. She most recently co-created an online prenatal and postpartum subscription-based online fitness program focused on effective, trimester-specific exercise and education in response to the loss of community access to many gyms/ specialty services due to the COVID-19 situation.

Kasia treats males and females with pelvic floor dysfunction and pain including but not limited to: urinary and bowel incontinence, neurogenic bladder, painful bladder syndrome, male pelvic pain/chronic prostatitis, vestibulodynia, endometriosis, dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse), pubalgia (pubic bone pain), constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pelvic organ prolapse, coccydynia (tailbone pain), prenatal physical therapy (postural control/strength, hip and core strength, flexibility, body mechanics), and postpartum rehabilitation (bowel/bladder sexual function, diastasis rectus abdominus, scar tissue care, safe return to activity/sport).

She also treats patients with orthopedic injuries such as low back pain, radiculopathy, sciatica, disc herniations, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, laminectomy, spinal fusion, knee, hip, foot, and ankle pain, post-operative rehab, neck pain, headaches, tendinopathies, labral tears, and adhesive capsulitis.

As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), competitive runner for 20 years, yoga practitioner, and skier, Kasia understands the impact that pain and injury can have on daily life and performance. After struggling personally with IBS and pelvic pain as a runner, she found that pelvic floor physical therapy not only reduced her pain and minimized flare-ups, but also improved her competitive performance. Kasia has since become a passionate advocate for pelvic health and for raising awareness among healthcare practitioners of the necessity for pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Kasia is accepting patients in our Sherman Oaks and Montrose locations.

Testimonial by Alexandra B.

Heather is without exaggerating AMAZING! After years of trouble with a certain part of my body, in no time, she made everything change back to equilibrium and to what would be considered normal. She explains everything in detail and therefore gives you a better understanding of why things are the way they are, and how you can work towards turning things around. I would highly recommend Heather for any type of Physical Therapy. She has created her own "Method/Therapy" through years of studying (with some of the greatest practitioners), practice and breaking down the issues of her past patients, enabling her to fine tune her own system. I'm so thankful to have found her, and I'm especially grateful for the quick recovery I've achieved, after years of distress. If you cannot afford her, I recommend you purchase her book. Although it may not be Heather in person, it can still help you to get on the right path to recovery!

I started seeing Heather in October 2014. For more than two years, I had been suffering from painful urinary tract infection type symptoms after my bartholins gland surgery which included constant burning and urinary frequency sensation that led to more and more painful intercourse. I had made multiple visits to internist, obgyn and urologist's offices, went through a range of treatment with UTI and bladder frequency medication that included antibiotics, vesicare, estrogen cream, but nothing worked.

A personal journey and testimonial from one of my patients:

My husband and I were married for 5 years before we were able to have intercourse due to my vaginismus. There was nothing traumatic in my past but for some reason, even though I wanted sex, I mentally avoided "that area" of my body and didn't even admit to myself that there was a problem for a long time, even though I was never able to put tampons in. Once I finally opened my eyes up to the fact that I had a problem, I had a surgery that was supposed to fix the issue.

I wanted to thank you so much for helping me get through something I thought I may never be able to. We have achieved pain-free intercourse and this has really solidified our marriage. We are so grateful to you for all the work you do! Thank you!!

My husband and I were married for 5 years and unable to have intercourse, but I never knew why. After numerous awful experiences at doctor’s offices (where many doctors told me I “just needed to relax”), a surgery that didn’t fix the problem, and a year of owning dilators that didn’t get me anywhere, someone finally referred me to Heather for Physical Therapy. I finally had answers and information from someone who knew exactly what I was dealing with!
